Free mobile word game
Classic board games have refused to take a backseat in this digital age. One such game is Scrabble. EA revives this classic word game into a mobile app. The rules of the game are still the same. Players must outwit and outpoint their opponents by creating words out of lettered tiles. The game’s interface is the same as the original board game, making this a perfect alternative to those that have been an avid player of Scrabble since its creation. Your opponents can be random players or contacts from your social media accounts. It also offers customizable settings to create a board that is uniquely your own.
New look. Same great game.
The mobile version of Scrabble does not stray far from the physical board game. The setup is identical to that in real life. You will also get seven letter tiles. The goal of each player is to place the highest-scoring word on the board. Certain areas of the board are marked for bonus points. They could double or triple the points you get from a letter or the word itself. It’s a straightforward premise, but one that is very addictive to logophiles.
Four players will play in a single round. If there are not enough players, unfilled slots will be replaced with AI or a computer. The game supports a local ‘pass the system’ or WiFi play. You will find a limited number of options per game, including the AI’s playing level. This applies to when you’re turning on Challenges, score, or time limits.
This mobile version of Scrabble does not offer more modes, bonuses, and challenges than the original game. While it does stay true to the original game, it’s a great game to play with family and friends throughout the day or for hours and hours.
